Survey Response Rate Calculator

Enter how many people completed your survey and how many invitations were actually delivered (excluding bounces) to get your response rate.

Exclude bounced or failed sends.

The formula

Response rate = (completed responses ÷ delivered invitations) × 100

What the result means

The response rate tells you what share of the people you reached chose to answer. Count only delivered invitations — bounced emails and failed sends should be excluded from the denominator.

Response rates vary enormously by audience, channel, relationship and survey length, so avoid comparing against generic benchmarks. A short survey to engaged customers behaves nothing like a cold outreach survey. Low rates also raise the risk of non-response bias: the people who answered may differ systematically from those who did not.
