Employee Engagement Score Calculator

Enter how many responses across your engagement questions were favorable (agree + strongly agree), neutral, and unfavorable (disagree + strongly disagree), and get your engagement score — the percent favorable — instantly.

Usually “agree” + “strongly agree” (top two ratings).

“Disagree” + “strongly disagree” (bottom two ratings).

The formula

Engagement score = favorable responses ÷ total responses × 100

What the result means

Percent favorable is the most common way to summarize an engagement survey: the share of all answers that landed in the top ratings. A score of 70% means seven in ten answers across your engagement questions were favorable.

There is no universal “good” engagement score — results depend on your industry, question set and scale. The most reliable use of the score is tracking your own trend over time, comparing drivers (leadership, workload, recognition) against each other, and reading the open-text comments that explain the numbers.
